The new face of byAMFI: Rosiane Kuijper

Since February, passersby at Spui 23 are being smiled at by the new face of the byAMFI Statement Store, in the heart of Amsterdam’s city centre. Fresh in her job, but already well-known at AMFI, Rosiane Kuijper is the store’s new project manager. AMFI.nl spoke to her about reality school, to-do lists and creative brainstorming sessions with her student team.

The recent Branding graduate Rosiane couldn’t resist starting a new adventure straightaway by accepting an offer to become the project manager of byAMFI. ‘I was amazed by the idea of participating in one of AMFI’s reality school projects and I knew that it would be an invigorating new experience’, she explains. Now having worked in the store for a few weeks, her expectations turned out to be more than true. ‘I never get tired of talking to people and explaining the idea of the store – never!’, she laughs. ‘The most fun part is brainstorming for new ideas with the students during our weekly meetings. They are bursting with creativity and it’s incredible how much initiative they take.’

We should see byAMFI as an additional classroom’, claims Rosiane, when asked about future changes. ‘It’s a pity that many students don’t know about the options the store provides. I want to let them know that they are always welcome. The plans are to showcase even more AMFI projects in the store. ‘There are so many talented young professionals at AMFI and I simply feel the responsibility to showcase their work to the outside world.’

Rosiane, who is not only byAMFI’s project manager and coordinator, but also sales advisor and organiser of opening events, never seems to run into difficulties with the tight schedule. ‘To-do lists are lifesavers! I always start the day with writing one and then I try to accomplish at least 75% of it.’ However, Rosiane is convinced that byAMFI owes the success of its innovative concepts to the dedicated volunteer team of 2nd year students, that steadily keeps track of sourcing materials, develops new concepts and co-organises events in the store.

Come get a piece of the action and join the byAMFI talk on the 28th of March featuring the current ‘shop-in-shop’ concept: Dick Moby Sustainable Sunglasses.
