What do you do for AMFI?
‘I have only recently (since April 1st) joined AMFI as a lecturer in Product Development for the Fashion & Management department. I have a job for three days a week and work mainly with the 3rd and 4th year students in the specialization programmes.’

What is your background?
‘I have recently moved back on a full-time basis to the Netherlands. My previous position was as Product Development Supervisor to the Action Sports team at The North Face in Lugano Switzerland. The team was responsible for the development and management of technical sportswear including Cycling, Base Layers and Ski wear. Prior to that I freelanced and also worked in the Product Development team at Nike. I also worked for Nike as an Apparel Product Integrity Quality Engineer. Overall I have worked for many high street and mail order brands in the UK (fashion) including NEXT, where I worked as a Senior Garment Technical Manager for some years. With my many roles in the apparel industry, I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel the world.’

What is your impression of AMFI?
‘I am thrilled to have been offered a position teaching. It has been a career goal of mine for quite some time. It’s wonderful to be part of an institute overseeing the development of students who aspire to having a career in the apparel trade. AMFI is an excellent school filled with ambitious talent.’

How do you see your future at AMFI?
‘I see myself settling into the role at AMFI within the Fashion & Management department. I also hope with some of my previous roles, I can share some new information for the forthcoming curriculum to offer useful tools and insight. Meantime I must thank my colleagues for the warm welcome and direction and look forward to being part of the AMFI team.’

What do you do besides AMFI?
‘I live in Amsterdam and I love travelling, visiting exhibitions and photography. And above all: I am learning to speak Dutch.’
