Supply Chain Integration in Fashion and Textiles: The Real Revolution
The fashion and textile industry is increasingly confronted with the need for greater supply chain integration. Larger companies with the resources to do so are opening new factories or seeking to secure existing production facilities. At the same time, uncertainty around trade restrictions and changing market conditions is forcing companies to become more flexible. Greater control over the supply chain appears to be becoming increasingly important. But where is all this production going? Is manufacturing really moving back closer to the places where products are consumed? And what does supply chain integration mean for producers and brands that do not have the resources to control their own supply chains? How will the roles of buyers and merchandisers change?
These are some of the questions we will explore together on 29 October, during the sixth edition of the second series of Avond aan de Amstel.
The discussion will be moderated by Joris Völker, an experienced agent and buyer with an extensive network in the Dutch textile industry. He is joined by professionals from the international fashion and textile sector, with Dr Marco Mossinkoff, marketing and sociology expert at AMFI, providing additional context and expertise. They will be discussing this with guests from the international fashion and textile sector. Matthijs Crietee is Secretary-General of the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and is committed to improving collaboration between brands and manufacturers within the supply chain. Dominic Sluiter, an AMFI alumnus and co-founder of EnhanceThat, established 3D product development as an integral part of the supply chain whilst working at Nike, PVH and Marks & Spencer.
Most importantly, we want to hear from you. The future of fashion and textile supply chains requires not only perspectives from industry professionals, but an open and critical conversation with the people shaping the sector today and tomorrow.
Please note: the event will be held in Dutch.
