AMFI Summer Course Virtual Fashion Design 2024

In our faculty we also offer Minors in VR/AR/AI and Mixed Reality Fashion where 3D creation and transdisciplinary can be related to games, the Metaverse and beyond. We want all to think from sustainable creation, production and performance within the fashion industry cycle. The course is conceived for advanced fashion students (bachelor or master level) and professionals.

You’re willing to develop 3D knowledge and skills to conceptualise your fashion vision and materialise through the use of cutting-edge 3D simulation technology for fashion design. You learn new working methods and new insights to gain knowledge on the influence of 3D virtual prototyping in the Fashion industry. A new mindset, will give you the possibility to re-think and re-create 3D fashion company's in real or in the digital realm.

One of the important demands is to create and produce fashion of high quality sustainably. Rethinking processes is core to communicating design, performing and producing fashion. Sustainable thinking and acting is one of the core values of AMFI and we expect students to do so by integrating vision development in their design.

You will learn to translate ideas and vision in experiments, garment design, virtual prototypes, digital twins and showing this in a personal final presentation. Next to this, you design in small groups the company of the future, No Plan B, what will be your role? Create and produce smartly, apply new technologies, show design possibilities, and re-design traditional working methods into Digital Craftsmanship.

Location - Amsterdam Fashion Institute, Mauritskade 11 Amsterdam
Study load - Two weeks, Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday. 60 contact hours and 20 self-study hours.
